SSC President's New Perception
“Being the SSC President means being the leader, it doesn’t mean that I give commands or orders to my fellow officers. It also means that I stand as their leader, not their boss.” Says Ms. Lady Third S. Pagayonan, 20, a fourth year AB English Student and the elected SSC President of CSAV for the school Year 2018-2019. She has also been a part of the Council in the previous school years as the P.I.O. (in her 2nd Year) and as the Vice President (in the 3rd Year). This School Year, she decided to be a part of the council once more and for the last time. She stated that it’s not about what inspires her, but it’s all about her fellow officers who dreamed big with her. Perseverance, dedication, and willingness are the things in her mind as she stood her ground during the Election Day. For her, hardships may differ in terms of position, but it’ll always be the same in terms of failures and achievements.
She said, “SSC President is just a title, it doesn’t give me the authority of giving commands and orders … we still follow certain rules.” Also, she joined various beauty pageants. She’s always been a dreamer, and she doesn’t mind what other people might say as long as she knows herself more than anyone else. “I’m not a beauty queen. I’m just a beautiful student Council president and being a leader is my crown.”
Supreme Student Council is the highest form of student organization in CSAV. So as the President, it is her goal to change the way the activities were held in the school and the perception of the former SSC Officers. This school year’s Council spearheaded successful activities such as the Freshmen Day, Acquaintance Party, Teacher’s Day, and many others.
Her message to her fellow students states, “To all Ananians, I hope that you will all see us [SSC Officers] not only as student leaders, but also as family. We are doing what we think is the best for everyone. Let’s work together and achieve our dreams together.”
